Purpose:  Under the direction of a QMHP, a CSSP provides training to the client and natural supports that addresses the serious emotional disturbance and symptom-related problems that interfere with the client’s functioning, provides opportunities to acquire and improve skills needed to function as appropriately and independently as possible in the community, and facilitates the client’s community integration and increases his or her community tenure.  This service includes treatment planning to facilitate resiliency.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • To deliver therapy virtual and/or in-office services to clients as requested including the specific hours requested. 
  • To work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the Treatment Plan;
  • To provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and submit said documentation as specified by local, state and federal standards. 


Required Education: (Including Trainings, Licenses and/or Certifications) 

  • A Master’s degree in a Mental Health field (e.g.: Social Work, Psychology, Counseling); 
    • licensed professional counselors (LPC);
    • licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT);
    • licensed clinical social workers (LCSW);

QMHP-CS

    QMHP Responsibilities:

    As the QMHP, your key responsibilities will involve the following:

    • Responsible for providing skill-building training in the home or community: one-on-one skills sessions at client’s home, at the office, or in the community relating to goals and objectives using evidence-based practices and curriculum.
    • Provides support and crisis/emergency services for the child/adult/family through face-to-face contact, phone contact, or availability by an on-call system (all time spent on crisis assessment and planning, crisis linkage and follow-up, and stabilization must be documented as crisis hours)
    • Maintains all client documentation in the electronic record and writes progress notes that adhere to the Texas Administrative Code’s requirements.
